Comparison changelog

Comparison pages that date-stamp themselves.

Almost every "best wardrobe apps" list on the internet was written by one of the apps on it, and almost none say when they last checked a single claim. Ours do: every comparison page carries a "last verified" date, and this log is the receipt — what we checked, what we found, and what changed.

How verification works

Quarterly cadence

Each quarter, every comparison page is re-checked against the competitor's live App Store listing: pricing model, latest version and release date, rating counts, and the specific claims our table makes (caps, ads, export, platforms). A build-time guard fails if any page goes more than ~95 days without a fresh verification.

Evidence, not vibes

The pull is scripted and repeatable — the same metadata endpoint the App Store's own search uses, US storefront, recorded in the log entry below. When a claim can't be verified from public listing data, the page says "check their listing" instead of guessing.

Honesty policy

We never write roundup posts that rank Armoiria first. Every comparison page keeps an explicit "where they win" section, and updates to a competitor's favor are logged here as prominently as updates to ours. Verification that only flows one way is marketing, not comparison.

The log

First quarterly verification — all six comparison pages re-checked

Live App Store metadata pull (US storefront, iTunes Search API) on 2026-08-28: price model, latest version, last release date, and rating counts for each competitor, cross-checked against each page's hedged claims.

  • Indyx

Ships fast — version 9.8.0 released Aug 25, 2026; 4.8★ from ~1,500 ratings; still free to download. Our page's framing (manual cataloging as a practice, no ads at time of writing) holds unchanged.

  • Stylebook

Still paid-up-front ($4.99) and still the category veteran — but the latest version (10.1) dates to June 2025, so its release cadence has slowed considerably. No claim changes needed.

  • Pureple

Version 6.0.21 (July 2026), free with premium subscription, as our page says. Worth noting honestly: its rating (3.9★, ~6,100 ratings) is the lowest of the fleet we track.

  • Cladwell

Version 5.12.4 (March 2026), free download, subscription model — matches our pricing note. Slower cadence than Indyx but actively maintained.

  • Smart Closet

Name-collision alert, recorded for the record: the US App Store now returns TWO apps under this name — the veteran "Smart Closet - Your Stylist" ($2.99, 4.4★, ~4,300 ratings) and a newer "Smart Closet: Your AI Stylist" by an unrelated developer (3 ratings). Our comparison targets the veteran. Check the developer name before comparing.

  • GetWardrobe

Actively maintained with date-versioned releases (2026.08.1, Aug 13, 2026); free tier plus subscription, 4.3★. Our page's CSV-export praise stands.

  • Watchlist

Two new entrants are climbing the category charts and will be tracked each quarter: Alta Daily (4.9★, ~13,300 ratings) and Fits (4.6★, ~5,100 ratings). They get full comparison pages only if they hold a top position at the next verification.

Next scheduled verification: quarter ending November 2026.

Reading the comparisons is step one.
