Before you buy it: will you wear it 30 times?
The rules
- Before any purchase, honestly ask: will this reach 30 wears?
- If the answer is no — for any reason (fit, occasion, care) — put it back.
- Apply the same question to what you already own: anything that will never hit 30 leaves.
- Track wear counts so the answer is data, not a vibe.
- Special-occasion wear gets an honest multiplier check (a $300 dress worn twice is a $150-per-wear dress).
Why it works
30 Wears is a buying rule more than a closet rule, which is why it compounds: every purchase that clears the bar is one you will not be decluttering next year. Cost per wear turns "it was on sale" into arithmetic.
