Shop Your Closet

Zero new items, ten "new" outfits. The remix month.

The rules

  1. Find ten outfits in your existing closet you have never worn as a combination.
  2. At least three must pair things that "never go together".
  3. Wear each new combination once during the month.
  4. Log every look — this is your outfit library being built.
  5. No purchases allowed while the challenge runs.

Why it works

Shop Your Closet is the anti-declutter challenge: it grows outfit count without growing item count. The orphan you discover (the piece that pairs with nothing) is the most honest retire signal there is.

Armoiria runs this challenge natively — streaks, outfit logs, and wear counts that make the checklist fill itself: armoiria://challenges?preset=shop-your-closet

The checklist

Print it, stick it inside the closet door, tick as you go.

  • Cleared a Sunday to build 10 never-tried combos
  • Photographed or logged each combo as a formula (top × bottom × layer × shoes)
  • Wore combo #1 through #10 across the month
  • Marked which combos earned a repeat
  • Identified one true orphan piece that pairs with nothing
  • Built the outfit library habit (log before bed, not from memory on Sunday)

Frequently asked questions

How do I find combinations I have never worn?

Work layer-first: pick a jacket, then build under it. You have mentally grouped items before; forcing a different anchor breaks the grouping.

What if a combo looks terrible?

Log it anyway and move on — the miss is how you find your actual formulas. Every stylist keeps a "never again" list.
